Who needs a spa?

Who needs an expensive mud bath at a spa when you can get one for free on the beach?!?!

We spent our weekend at "The Lake" with my family. The kids had a blast playing together. Saturday there were truck loads of sand on the beach that hadn't been spread. The kids had a lot of fun climbing the hills and rolling down. Zack didn't want to get his hands dirty. He kept running over to me to brush off his hands, but he wanted to get to the top of the hills so bad. He made me hold his hand to get to the top then he would scoot down on his butt and do it again. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me and I thought I'd have another opportunity on Sunday, so I wasn't too worried. Well, Saturday night they spread out the sand, so Sunday there were no piles.

For Mother's Day Ryan made his famous biscuits and gravy for my family and then the kids wandered down towards the beach. Zack was still partially in his pajamas, but I was ok with that as he got messier and messier, as you will see below.

They started out making sand castles, then started digging holes and then they started getting buckets of water and the fun really began. Needless to say, his no dirty hands stage was very short lived. I see lots of sand stained clothes in my future this summer.

and more water

then the real mud bath begins. To bad the water was freezing and I couldn't dunk him to clean off, although the cold didn't seem to bother any of the kids.

It truly was a wonderful Mother's Day just watching the cousins have a blast playing together in the sand after a long cold winter of being separated.

Looks fun. Too bad it was to cold to get in the water, but it doesn't look like that bothered them at all. I am glad you had a Happy Mother's Day.
