Time to rest

After the birthday party Zack and mommy were both wiped. I had big plans for my announcement, but I figure most people already know the news. Zack is going to be a big brother!! I am 7 weeks pregnant and due 10/14/07. I have been lucky so far and have had an easy pregnancy, except for being tired. According to www.babycenter.com the baby is the size of a raspberry right now. I love getting my weekly emails from them saying how big the baby is and how they are developing.

We got our new couch and ottoman just in time. Friday night I beat Zack to bed. This also expains the lack of posts this past week.

Birthday Party

Zack is feeling better now, except for a never ending runny nose. He had a fever Thursday and Friday. Saturday we went to my niece's 4th birthday party.

Here is the birthday girl, Courtney

Lindsey and Courtney had fun playing with the makeup. Luckily Zack wasn't interested.

Zack and his cousins. Ryan was happy that Zack decided to take off his princess crown.

Zack is sick

Sorry, no pictures today. Zack woke up with 100 degree temp, so we stayed home today. He threw up this morning. I was afraid he would be doing it all day, but luckily he didn't. He didn't have much appetite all day, but was in good spirits and played hard. He is such a tough kid. Ryan took his temp in this evening and it was 103 degrees. Hopefully he'll be able to kick it tonight while sleeping, but I assume he will need to stay home tomorrow too.

The Piggy Bank

Zack loves when daddy gives him change to put in his piggy bank. He always hesitates to put the last coin in the slot. He'll put it half way in and pull it out multiple times before finally dropping it in and then he tries to figure out how to get the money out of the bank and/or asks for more money.

Fort Zack

On Friday we we went furniture shopping and bought a new couch and ottoman, yay!!! They said they had them in their warehouse and we could pick them up on Saturday. So, my bother-in-law came over and helped Ryan throw away our old couch and then pick up the new one. Wouldn't you know it...the store called me and said they put a tear in the couch while loading or unloading. They have to order another and they will deliver it on Saturday, ahh! So we have a bare living room (one recliner) for a week. I knew we were jinxing ourselves by getting rid of the old couch first.

Ryan decided to build a fort for Zack today, since we have a plenty of space in the living room. It started off as a simple two chairs, one blanket fort and progressed from there. Zack pushed another chair over, so we needed more blankets. Ryan, then, decided to bring up two tunnels and a tent from downstairs. Zack had fun until party pooper mommy said it was naptime.

Back to work

We survived the blizzard! Back to work tommorow. It was a nice two day vacation. Here are some pictures of the aftermath.

Ryan and Zack spent their snow day playing "fumble." Zack runs with the ball, Ryan tackles him and tries to strip the ball away and then they both go after the ball again and the game repeats.

Sammy and Ryan got to play outside in blizzard.

Happy Valentine's Day

Here are Zack's Valentine's Day cards that I made. The first one was sent to family and friends and the second is for his daycare class. I hope everyone has a happy Valentine's Day.

Snowed In!

We are in the middle of a blizzard. We have 14 inches so far, 4 to 9 foot drifts and 35 mph winds. No one is allowed on the roads except for emergencies. We didn't have to work today and it looks like I'll have tomorrow off too. Ryan has to go in at noon tomorrow as of now.

On Sunday, Ryan's mom and her fiance came to visit. They were having Zack withdrawls and needed a fix. Zack was napping when they came and was so excited to wake up to grandma and grandpa. I think Ryan actually took these pictures. I am trying to share the camera, so maybe someday I'll be in a picture too.

Snow Storm

We are supposed to get a big snow storm tonight and tomorrow. They are saying 12+ inches of snow and 40 mph winds with drifts up to 6 feet. Ryan has to go to work no matter what and I only get off if the government offices close. I keep hoping that they have it wrong, but it looks like we're about to get pounded soon. I'm sure I'll have lots of pics!

We have a thief

I picked Zack up at daycare today and his teacher said I have a funny story. She went to change his diaper and undid his onesie and out came a sunny-side-up egg and some lettuce (pretend food.) I guess he shoplifted some food from the kitchen in the drama room!

Zack got a Valentine's Day card from his Great Grandma Mickey with some money in it. Here is the Ladies Man himself tucking a buck.

Outside?

Ryan took our dog, Sammy, for a walk after work on Thursday. They usually go every day, but haven't been in about a week because it has been so cold here. As soon as they left Zack pushed his fire truck up to the door and started to stand up on it to help reach the handle. I immediately stopped him, so he decided to move on to plan B, ram the door and knock it down.

We are all getting cabin fever from this cold weather.

I've been tagged!

by Jaidean to post 6 weird things about myself. Here they are!

1. I can remember what every person wore to every event since I was a child, with a few exceptions I'm sure.

2. I look at the colors on objects, like shirts, and first try to link (they have to be touching) all the colors on the object together using each color only once, if I can't get all colors linked then I'll try to figure out how to get the biggest group that includes all the colors. - just a tad OCD (I don't think I've ever told anyone about this, even my husband.)

3. Another OCD secret - I also count things, anything and everything, and they have to end in an even number or I can't handle it and I'll try to find something else to add to the group. I was just counting the file cabinets drawers in my office without realizing it, twelve, I probaby count them 100 times a day, I just realized it!

4. I hate when people take pens off my desk. I watch people when they get up to make sure they don't take the pen with them and if someone reaches for MY pen I will have to hurt them.

5. I have to have the toilet paper so it pulls from the bottom.

6. I have to have my shoe laces perfect. I adjust and re-adjust them so the loop and strings and in good proportion to each other.

Now I'm tagging Kim, Keri, and Sandra.

Whee

Ryan is at the Purdue - Michigan State basketball game with a friend. I am anxiously waiting for LOST's return. My cold is getting worse and I want to go to bed, but I must stay up for LOST.

Here is a picture from the weekend.

Three Months Later

I dropped Zack off at daycare this morning and his teacher gave Zack a big hug. She then told me she often thinks of Zack at night and the funny things he did during the day. She said he is such a joy and always makes her laugh with the silly things he does.

Zack started at the daycare in November and it took him about 6 weeks before I could leave in the morning without him bawling. He has two teachers in his room and he clung to the head teacher and wouldn't let the other teacher touch him. He would bawl when the head teacher left the room. He had previously been in an in-home daycare where he was the oldest child. Now he was the youngest one. I was afraid his teachers didn't care for him too much because he had a hard time adjusting to his new surroundings. It killed me as a mother and I wanted to quit my job so bad. This daycare really is the best in town and I knew he was in good hands and had to stick it out. He wouldn't be happy anywhere except Ms. Connie's (previous daycare) or at home, so I held off on looking for another daycare.

I am so happy that he has finally adjusted and his teachers get to see the silly, playful, lovable Zachary that I know. He also has his two best friends, Emmy and Cole, that he asks about all the time at home and can't wait to see in the morning, "Emmy? Cole?" It is so cute to see the hug each other.

I finally feel like he is happy, learning, and loved at daycare and that is the best feeling for a working mom!

Story Time

Zack loves when his daddy reads to him in funny voices. They always lay on their bellies to read books. Zack loves to imitate his daddy. Ryan will lay on his back and throw a ball in the air and play catch with himself. Zack will lay next to him and try to do the same. It is so cute.

Play time

It has been months since we've had to put the dog food up out of Zack's reach, but Sunday he decided to occupy his time here while I did the dishes. Of course, the dog won't eat the food that is outside the bowl.

Get your whites whiter.

I was just editing an old picture in PhotoShop and Ryan came over, sulking from the Bears loss. I was adjusting the picture color in Curves and Ryan said, 'Wow you sure got that shirt white, if you could do that to laundry you'd have something.' I busted up laughing and decided it was blog worthy. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the beer I've drank while watching the Superbowl. Poor Bears!

Yay!!!

I have a fancy banner!!! I've been meaning to work on a banner since I started this blog, but haven't taken the time. Today I decided to work on it during Zack's nap. I couldn't, though, for the life of me figure out how to get it posted in the blog. But I didn't have to look too far. Not only is my wonderful husband "Compaq Certified" (inside joke, see below) but he also informed me today that he is a former "Webmaster." I asked him if he knew anything about HTML and his answer was, "of course, I AM a former webmaster." I guess I shouldn't make fun of him too much or he'll never help me again. Thank you Ryno, I love you!!!

P.S. As I was finishing the above paragraph Ryan came home with my favorite ice cream, a waffle cone, 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 chocolate, from Culvers. Yummy!!!

P.S.S. When our relationship started, we went to lunch and Ryan's big line to see me again was that he is "Compaq Certified" so he could come to my apartment and fix my Compaq computer. He called me a couple days later and has been my IT department since then.

My Shaggy Dog

Zack's hair is starting to get a little long and as my Dad would say, he looks like a shaggy dog. I've been meaning to take him in to get it cut, then Ryan said I can cut it. I just wanted it trimmed around the ears and at the neck. So, tonight Ryan gets out his grooming kit and grabs the scissors. He starts cutting around an ear and then starts busting up laughing. This is not a good sign!! He cut WAY too much off. It is shaved high all the way around his ear. Ryan now has a new respect for beauticians. We will be going to a pro tomorrow and hopefully they can fix it. Zack definitely has a good side now for photographing!

I had a little photo shoot with Zack and his shaggy dog hair on Sunday. I know he is wearing the same shirt in all of my blog entries this week - I swear they were all taken on the same day and I don't dress him in the same clothes every day.
