Zack's daycare teacher told me a cute story this morning. Yesterday they were sitting in a circle and the kids were taking turns picking songs to sing. It was Zack's turn and she asked him what song he wanted to hear and he answered, "Easter Bunny." She was confused but decided to sing an Easter song for him. After she was done he said, "Again!" I guess she sang it five times with him asking again after each time. She then told him it was time to sing Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes. Zack then put his hand in her face and said, "No, again!" So she sang it one more time and then moved on to the next song. She said it was really cute. I told her that he has a stretchy rubber Easter bunny that he got in his basket from Grandma Sharon and he plays with it constantly.

When she started telling me the story, I was afraid she was going to say he wanted to hear the Dirty Bill song. It's a song that a friend at the lake taught him. Her husband's name is Bill and Zack now refers to him as Dirty Bill.

The water is great!

I bought Zack a water table/slide a couple weeks ago. I knew it would be a hit, but I didn't think it would become a pool. I should have known better with Zack. I guess I need to start putting a swim diaper and trunks on him as soon as we get home from work.

I did it!

and without my "personal IT department." I made a new blog banner and successfully got it uploaded to the blog by myself. I called Ryan down to show him and as he was coming down the stairs he yelled, "I'm not your personal IT department. I have stuff to do too." After I showed him he said, "well all you had to do was copy and paste. I already did the HTML for you." I can't please the man! I've been wanting to update my banner since the weather started warming up, but was afraid I'd ruin the HTML that Ryan did work so hard at figuring out for my last banner.

Future American Idol

A couple weeks ago Ryan and Zack were playing on the computer. Ryan put the headset on Zack and he decided to sing his ABC's. I love how he always cheers at the end of every song he sings. For your listening pleasure...

Happy Father's Day

I hope all of you dads had a wonderful Father's Day. We spent the weekend at the lake and a hot hot hot weekend, but I'm not complaining. Zack had a blast swimming today. He would have stayed in all day if I would have let him.

Here are a couple pictures from last weekend in honor of Father's Day.

Kicking and Swinging

Tonight Ryan felt his baby girl kick for the first time! It doesn't seem like I've been pregnant that long. I can't believe I'm almost 5 months already. I went to Gymboree yesterday during lunch and bought the first of many pink outfits. I'm trying not to buy too many summer clothes because I always guessed the wrong sizes with Zack, but it is so hard to resist the cuteness. I'm really not looking forward to moving Zack to the guest bedroom and painting over the nursery walls. I think a lot of pink shopping to help fill the closet will make the transition easier on me though.

I thought movement pictures would be appropriate for this entry, so here is a picture, color and black and white, of Zack swinging over the weekend.

Growing up

Sorry, I've been a bad blogger. I do have an excuse. I got a coupon for a free 20 page photobook from, so I decided to make Zack a book of his 2nd year of life. The coupon expired on 6/7, so I spent every night last week editing pictures for the past 12 months and then 6/7 put the book together. My free 20 page book ended up being 72 pages long, oops! I was running out of time on 6/7 and paid for it at 11:57 PM. I found a couple typos the next day, uncropped pics, and was forced by time to use pictures that I didn't care for for the cover and inside title page. I didn't think about keeping pictures back for them. I was worried the coupon would expire at midnight and didn't want to chance what time zone they were on. I can't wait to get the book. I know Zack will LOVE looking at it and hopefully he doesn't tear it up too much. I am still determined to finish his 1st year scrapbook by the time he graduates high school. I am on month 3 of 12 right now and haven't touched it in over a year. I think photobooks are the way to go for me from now on.

On Thursday I talked to Zack's teacher about potty training. She said they will ask them at diaper change time if they want to potty, but they don't force it if they don't want to go. She said they would start that day. Thursday he sat on the potty 3 times, but never went. Friday I picked him up and he saw me coming through the window. He ran to his cubby and met me at the door. He yelled, "Mommy, I pottied!" and showed me his 3 stickers. They get to pick out a sticker every time they go potty. Zack chose glittery pink heart stickers, which I thought was really cute. I'm not sure what his other options were, but I assume there was something more masculine. He held his paper with the stickers all the way home and was very careful not to bend it. He couldn't wait to take it to the lake and show "Fampa Wonnie" (Grandpa Ronnie). He went 3 times for me on Saturday and twice today, Sunday. Now I wonder how long it will take before he learns to hold it and tell us when he needs to go.

Speaking of my baby growing up... This makes me really sad. I started noticing last week that my two year old son is now calling me "Mom" instead of "Mommy." I remember being sad when it went from mama to mommy, but this seems so much worse. I guess he is taking his role as the big brother seriously.

We spent the weekend at the lake and it was perfect weather. Saturday morning Zack and I walked down to the beach and no one else was around, so I grabbed my camera and took some pictures before it got busy. I came close to dropping the camera in the water a couple times. I needed someone to help me keep Zack from drowning while I took cute pictures. He has no fear of the water and wanted to go out by the floats in the deeper water. I finally put down the camera and put on his life jacket.

Hot Summer Day - FINALLY!

We had a fun weekend at the lake and finally had a warm weekend day on Saturday, but Sunday it rained. Zack played with his Elmo sprinkler for the first time. It is adjustable and lets off a nice soft mist, which is great for little ones and for adults that don't want to get soaked. Later in the day we went on our first boat ride of the season. The past two years Zack instantly fell asleep in the boat and was rarely awake to remember any of the ride, so I was anxious to see if he would sleep this year. We left right at nap time, but he was loving helping to drive the boat and looking at the other boats and jet skis and didn't have time for a nap. He did finally fall asleep in grandpa's arms an hour or so into the ride. His daycare teacher said he kept talking about the boat today. After the boat ride we went down by the swimming area and he swam in the lake for the first time this year. I was afraid the water would be freezing, but it wasn't too bad. Zack had no fear of the water. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad, but he loved every second of swimming and was upset when it was time to get out for dinner.

Here are some pictures from the sprinkler.
