Fun and Games

Hungry Hungry Hippos was always my favorite game when I was little. I bought it for Zack's 3rd birthday and it has been a hit with him and the cousins. I am very lucky that Zack is such a good big brother and always watching Addison to make sure she is playing with safe toys. I was (am) nervous about the marbles, but Zack has been very responsible with the game so far.

and finally Miss Maddie. She is the cutest and sweetest little girl. I had a close group of friends that I grew up with at the lake. I can't wait to watch Zack and Addison grow up with their friends.

Our conversation this morning . . .

Zack: Mom, why do we have two honeys in the pantry?

Me: In case Pooh Bear comes over

Zack: (thinking) but, Pooh Bear likes big honey in a honey (thinking of word)

Me: Pot?

Zack: yeah, we need to get one of those

Me: We'll go to the store and look for one

Zack: Ok, then we'll fill it with honey and fruit snacks for Pooh Bear and mix them together

Me: Ok

Zack: then we'll add jelly and mix it up again. Pooh Bear will think that is so yummy.

Me: Sounds good Buddy!

I just love this age!!

The Boy

Zack had a case of jealousy while I was trying to take Addison's naked eight month pictures in the previous post. He took his clothes off and kept sabotaging Addison's shots. I decided to take advantage of the jealously and actually got some eye contact and a nice smile, something that is extremely rare these days.

Eight Months

This has been a big month, or really week, for milestones. My tiny baby is slowly slipping away. Yesterday Addison started crawling. She isn't breaking any speed record yet, but I'm sure she will be very soon. I have enlisted Zack in helping to make sure she doesn't play with any small objects. I gave him his very own toilet paper roll and he is really good about checking to see if a toy will fit inside of it and asking me if Addison can play with something or not. I am still really nervous about leaving her unattended and need to re-baby proof the house.

I am waiting with each diaper change for her to start rolling over, try to crawl away and really fighting me. I dreaded changing Zack's diaper once he got mobile, but the stinker was good for everyone else.

She has also developed her own form of sign language. She loves to blow rasberries and they usually mean that she wants her paci, unless she is eating a food that she doesn't care for. The kids in Zack's daycare class get a kick out of her and the rasberries. I have started baby sign language with her, although Zack was closer to one year before he started signing back.

I am slowly trying to introduce some table foods to her, but she doesn't care for the texture and spits them out. She loves Nilla Wafers and yogurt though.

Here are some of her other seven month milestones. She can pull herself up to the standing position, got her first two teeth, and said her first word yesterday. Does babababa count as a word? She also sat up from the laying down position early in the month.

These were taken this evening

It was nice having a cooperative subject while it lasted :(

Sleepy Baby

I was cleaning the house this morning and left Addison in her room to play. I realized I hadn't heard from her in awhile and started to get worried. This is what I found . . .

ETA: I just performed my daily tooth check on Addison and we have our first protruder on the bottom!!

New Toy

I bought a set of LilyBlue PhotoShop actions today and couldn't wait for the chance to play around. I think I'm in love!

The tutu picture was taken 3-4 weeks ago and got lost in the shuffle. She has grown so much since this was taken. Today she was playing with an activity table and I looked over at her and she was standing up. I almost died. I am never going to get anything done around the house because I'm constantly worrying about her finding one of Zack's small toys and now I have to worry about her falling and cracking her head open.

Baby Kisses

Addison just lights up when Zack is around. He talks non-stop and she just stares in awe of him and instantly smiles the second he pays her some attention.

Addison was playing with a toy and Zack pushed it out of the way, layed down and started playing with it with his feet. Addison saw her opportunity and moved in for the kill. The noise on these are horrible, but I thought they showed a cute moment between the kids.

Big Girl

Addison, Addie, Adders, Baby Girlfriend, Sweet Baby Girl. I could keep on listing my nicknames for Addison, but I'll stop there. We are still waiting for her first tooth, first word and to start crawling.

She is so close to crawling. She gets up on all fours, but she can't get the legs to follow the arms yet. She is also working hard on pulling herself up while holding on to something, but she still has a ways to go before she masters that move. I think she was a late bloomer at rolling over, but she now does it with ease. She is also able to sit herself back up from the laying down position, although she usually "asks" for help to get back into the sitting position.

Water Slide

Zack got a water slide for his birthday and has been dying to use it. Sunday we finally had a hot weekend day, so Ryan blew it up. I'm sure it would be more fun with a pool to land in, but the kids didn't mind the grass too much.

Lindsey with the nose plug!
Zack tried every position going down the slide.
I think Lexi was having a little TOO much fun!

Hitched - Part III

Katie in the limo on the way to the church.
My sister Holly and her family. Her kids were getting squirmy, so this was the best of the bunch.
And my sister Becky and her family
it didn't take long for Zack and Lindsey to find the fountain in front of the reception hall

Hitched - Part II

Zack did a cute kid job at the wedding. (I had typed in great and decided that wasn't the best description.) He and my niece Lindsey, the flower girl, held hands while walking down the aisle. They were so cute. They sat next to my sister and I during the wedding. Zack had a hard time keeping quite, but he did keep his voice down for the most part. He and Lindsey did get into a shhing contest a couple of times and they got kind of loud. Zack did make a small scene when he told me he had to go potty. I debated about having him wait and take the chance of him having an accident in the middle of the wedding and causing a bigger scene or letting him go. My sister ended up taking him around the outside to Ryan and he took care of business, then stayed outside for the remainder of the ceremony.

After the ceremony the wedding party went to a park for pictures. I figured there would be a lot of down time for the wedding party, so I of course brought my camera to get some pictures of Zack.

a long day for the little man. I'd rather be napping.

our ride

More pictures to come . . .

My brother got married on Saturday. They had perfect weather and a beautiful wedding and reception. I am extremely tired right now, so I will add more pictures and a recap later. Zack didn't cause too much of a scene and we had multiple requests from people that wanted to take him home. He looked pretty darn cute in the tux.
