Seven on Wednesday

Alright, so I tried to do a Ten on Tuesday post yesterday and only made it to #7 before I got pulled away. It's been a slow week and I don't have much to add, so I'm posting it anyway :)

We spent the weekend at a wedding and Ryan's sister watched the kids. My camera hasn't seen much action lately, which is why my blog has been slow. The kids did great away from home and Zack didn't want to leave on Sunday.

1. On Monday Addison started giving kisses. Mouth closed and tongue sticking out just a little bit. I just love her to death. Zack was more of a mouth wide open kisser.

2. Zack has become a huge fan of Tom and Jerry. I don't think it ranks above Mickey Mouse Clubhouse yet, but it is close. He and daddy love watching it together. It must be a guy thing. I was never a huge fan.

3. Labor Day weekend is here already. I'm sad because it means the end of summer, weekends with family and friends at the lake, and the beginning of the long, dark, cold winter.

4. Last Friday I had my wellness checkup. I am happy to report that my cholesterol is normal again. It must have been high last year due to pregnancy. I passed all six criteria and won't be assigned a wellness coach this year, yeah! and the best part, I will get the full $300 bonus! I'm getting closer to the big lens purchase.

5. Addison is walking further, but still prefers to crawl. I'm still in shock when I see her walking across the room. Of course she refuses to strut her stuff when the video camera is on. She has to be in the mood.

6. She isn't as determined as Zack was when he learned to walk at 11 1/2 months. She will fall and then crawls the rest of the way. Zack got right back up, of course he was over a month older in this video. It always cracks me up though.

7. Addison has started saying "du" when she sees her rubber duckie. I even mention the word bath and she is high tailing it into the bathroom. I think she gets food in her hair on purpose, just to bathe.

Jealousy

Zack has become quite the momma's boy. No one can get him him dressed, cut an apple, buckle him into the car seat, tuck him into bed, wipe his butt, and the list goes on, quite like mom.

The past two weekends I've had sessions with friends and their kids. Zack always runs away from my camera, but he has suddenly become more cooperative. Although it is still painful for him to give me eye contact. I took pictures of Madi on Sunday and as soon as I returned he wanted me to take him to every spot that I took pictures of her and take pictures of him.

A little jealousy can go a long way.

Buddies

This morning I was dropping Zack off at daycare and his friend Alex was at the other end of the hall with his mom. Zack yells as loud as he can, "Alex!" He then waits for them to get closer and says,"How ya doin' buddy?" in the most sincere voice.

I started cracking up. It just doesn't sound like something a 3 year old should say. I think he actually stole the line from, Derek, a friend at the lake. Derek is awesome with kids and Zack thinks he is pretty darn cool.

Derek and Mandi are getting married on Saturday. I've been prepping Zack for his overnight stay at Ryan's sister's house so we don't have a repeat of this. I tell him that they are getting married just like Corey and Katie got married. He keeps asking my why Derek and Mandi are getting married. Hopefully they are not asking the same question right now. I explain that they love each other and want to be a family, which only brings on a slue of whys and other questions, including why don't they have a baby and why doesn't Corey and Katie have a baby? I'm not the only one pressuring you guys!! I tell him that next spring they will both have babies (joke!! well, kind of a joke) Love all four of ya!! I can't wait till Saturday!!

10 Months

Another month has passed and Addison turned 10 months old today. Last night she took about 7 steps. She still only has the two teeth on the bottom and they are some sharp boogers. She now waves good bye and we're working on signing, but she hasn't signed back yet. Here are some of her current loves and hates.

LOVES: baths. splashing. rubber duckies. water in a sippy cup. eating grass and anything else she shouldn't. grilled cheese sandwiches. yogurt. pacifier. clearing papers off of tables. tearing paper and eating it. mommy's singing. rolling around on the dog bed (yuck!). toilet brushes. toilet paper. zerberts. tickles.

HATES: diaper changes. being spoon fed. having teeth brushed. taking medicine. water poured over her face. being confined.

The hate list is much shorter. She really is an easy going baby. Happy 10 months Big Girl. Mommy loves you!

I made a second attempt at flower hat pictures and got some 'tude.

Do we really have to do this right now Mom? I'm kind of in the middle of something.
Grass? In my mouth? This mouth right here? I have no idea what you're talking about!

I swear, there is nothing in my mouth! Now stay away!

I've had all I can take of these accusations. I'm outta here.

Trash the Tutu

Sunday I had a session with good friends and their adorable daughter Maddie.
The princess pictures quickly turned into a trash the tutu session when I suggested Maddie wade in the water.
It didn't take her long to get used to the cold water and go for a little swim. She was completely soaked by the time we finished.

I hope you enjoyed your sneak peak!

One More

This spring everyone at the lake was complaining when they painted the pavilion turquoise. I am LOVING it!!

Baby Missing

Has anyone seen my baby? She is 7 pounds, red wrinkled skin, sleeps a lot, loves to cuddle.
Why do babies have to grow up so fast? Addison had two big milestones today.

First she lost her favorite hangout spot because she figured out how to escape. The past 2-3 weeks you could always find her playing with the dog door in the kitchen. Opening and closing it and hanging her head outside the door. These pictures were all taken on Monday. Today she made the great escape, so I had to put the gate on the door so no one can use it. We now have one bummed baby and one bummed dog.
Man I need to clean the glass.
The true milestone that really makes me sad is . . .
yep, she is walking. This was Monday. She started late last week taking one step and then going to the ground. Today we were all hanging out in the bathroom while Zack took care of some business. I watched her stand up in the middle of the bathroom and the next thing I know she was over by the garbage can, her other favorite hangout. I kept replaying it in my head. I think I saw 3 steps and then said no, she couldn't have she isn't even 10 months old yet. A little bit later she did it again - 3 STEPS!

She turns 10 months old on Tuesday. I have no doubt that she'll be running by then.

Another Sneak Peak

Thanks Guys! I had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

The Coolest Kids

On Saturday I took a step outside of my comfort zone and had my first session. I couldn't have asked for a better family to help me take the leap. We had so much fun together and they were not afraid of the camera at all.

Thanks Guys! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak. I'll post some individual pictures later this week.

Fun on the Water

Sunday we had three boat loads of people to a sandbar to hang out and swim for a couple of hours.

Ryan took Zack for his first Wave Runner ride. Ryan told him to hold on to his shorts, so he would be able to feel him back there. They took a long fast ride and Zack loved it. When they got back, Zack told Corey that his jet ski is too bumpy.

End of the ride.

Sick Babe

Addison has had a fever of 101 since Sunday night. I stayed home with her today and sent Zack to daycare so she could have some peace. She is so differnt than Zack when he is sick. Zack never slows down or acts sick, even as a baby. He goes on playing and running around like everything is fine. Addison, you can definitely tell something isn't right. She whimpers, tosses and turns, wants held and sleeps a lot. I hope she is feeling better tomorrow. I feel so helpless.

Here is a picture from Sunday in her new hat. I need to try again when the lighting is better. I was just shocked she kept it on and didn't mess with it. I didn't think I would actually get a picture taken to worry about the patches of sun.
