Home Again

We made it home from our trip to Tennessee. It took us 7 hours to get there and 10 hours and 20 minutes to get home. Traffic was horrible. We are so thankful that the kids were troopers. Addison didn't do very well on the drive down, but was great coming home. Thank heaven! She slept and watched TV with Zack and hardly made a peep.

I edited most of the pictures from our trip while Ryan drove. The blog should finally get some love this week. Friday we drove to the Smoky Mountains and stopped off to walk a trail. Here are few featuring Addison. I don't really notice how much she has grown until I sit down to edit pictures. I don't think I've taken her picture since Halloween. She has changed so much since then. She out eats her brother by a long shot and is constantly hungry. We were all amazed by how much she ate while in Tennessee. I think Thanksgiving is her new favorite holiday.

We're currently in Tennessee with Ryan's family for Thanksgiving. Yesterday we drove through the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg. Addison still isn't a fan of long car rides, so I'm dreading the drive home tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some cooperation today and capture a family picture for our Christmas card.

On Thanksgiving we took a walk in the woods near Grandma and Grandpa's house and was able to catch this shot of our niece Riley.

Go Boilers!

Last Saturday we tailgated at the Purdue - IU football game. It was a very cold day and the fire pits were very popular. I am still trying to get the campfire smell out of our house.

Ryan helped keep us warm with his jambalaya
He also deep fried a turkey since Thanksgiving was right around the corner.

I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. We are celebrating with Ryan's family in Tennessee.

Check In

I'm still alive and unfortunately haven't been away on vacation. The change in time and weather have taken away my desire to pick up my camera . Hopefully I'll work my way out of the funk soon.

Here is a picture of our dog Sammy taken last month. It will have to do until I dust off my camera.

We have had beautiful 70+ degree weather all week. I wish it would last, but it is supposed to start cooling off again. On Sunday Ryan played golf for the last time, while I took the kids to the park. We walked down to the pond to see the geese. I had a bag of goldfish crackers in the diaper bag, so I let Zack feed them. He had a ball.

Yesterday I gave Addison her first pony tails. I need a lot of practice at parting hair and making them even. I've never been able to do it.

On another note. I took the kids to the park today. I realized that I need to have another talk to Zack about stranger danger. He started a conversation with every adult we passed, especially if they had a dog. He sat on the bench with a dad and his dog while his kids played on the playground. Zack told him all about our dog and anything else he could imagine. I'm glad he isn't shy, but it makes me really nervous when I don't know who he is talking to.

Trick or Treat

We had awesome weather for trick or treating. I don't ever remember being warm in a sweatshirt on Halloween. My sister and her family came over and trick or treated with us, then we ordered pizza afterwards and hung out. Here are some snaps from the evening.

The kids ready to go
Zack never stopped running. He was absolutely exhausted when he finally went to bed after his cousins left.
Addison started off in the stroller and then wanted to join the kids.On the way to her first house.
