Twelve Days New

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to photograph the newest member of our family. Ryan's brother cousin Randy and his wife Michelle had their first child. A 5 pd 15 oz daughter named Isabella. As Zack is about to turn 4 yrs, she reminded me just how tiny a baby is at 5 pounds.

Here are some of my favorites of our sweet cousin.

Congratulations Randy and Michelle and welcome to the family Isabella.

My niece Lexi has loved helping me with Addison. Last summer she would try to feed her a bottle, give her a paci, etc. I think this summer Addison's role will change into more of a playmate instead of being seen as the baby. They had a lot of fun on Saturday giving their babies rides on Zack's tractor.

Back to the Lake

We spent the weekend opening up at the lake. It was great catching up with our friends that we've missed all winter. Zack thinks he is the big man on campus and is going to have a great summer. He had so much fun playing with his friends and cousins. We have a problem with him wondering off without telling us where he is going though. Between him and the water loving Addison, it is going to be a busy summer.

As soon as Addie spotted the water there was no stopping her. She made her way down to the beach and the ice cold water didn't deter her at all. She did not want me holding her hand and by the time we left she was soaked from head to toe. She will be living in a life jacket this summer. Addison was a little overwhelmed at first by the new place and all the new faces. She hung pretty close to me, but finally started warming up to everyone later in the day.

Here are some pictures of Addie from Easter morning that were never shared. Addie loves her "bubble."

Eighteen Months

Addison turned a year and a half today. Time is going by way too fast.

A Few of Her Favorite Things
Books, especially Dr. Suess board books
Daddy reading books
Baby dolls
Jumping on the bed
Daddy's shoulders
Drinkable yogurt mixed in with milk
Playing outside
Having her back rubbed at bedtime

Addison was more than happy to model her superhero cape. We went to a school and let her loose. She never stopped running or smiling and was mad when I had to wrangle her into the car.

Zack was more interested in finding the playground and didn't want to wear his cape, so Addie did the honors. She usually likes to wear both capes at the same time. I was surprised she didn't ask for them both.

Easter Morning

This was the first Easter that we didn't have any plans and were able to stay home. It felt strange, but we had a nice day playing outside and enjoying some family time.

When Addison saw her Easter basket the first thing she grabbed was the chocolate bunny and she never let it go. I'm sure she ate some aluminum foil, because she knew what would happen if she let that bunny out of her hands.

Zack found his swim trunks and yelled, Britches! The only person I know that uses the word britches is my dad and we haven't seen him since a week at Christmas. Zack doesn't forget much that Grandpa Ronnie tells him though, so I'm sure he had the word tucked away in his head. I just had to laugh, only my three year old uses the word britches.

Tonight as I was trying to put Zack to bed. I carried him like a "sack of potatoes" for the first time. This was my dad's signature bedtime move. Dad would hold me by my ankles and carry me over his back/shoulder. Zack loved it and couldn't stop talking about grandpa and the sack of potatoes in bed. I told him that Grandpa Ronnie will be home soon and I'm sure he would love to carry you like a sack of potatoes, so get ready Dad!!

Chocolate for breakfast is the best!! Why can't every day be Easter?

The kids spread out their loot. I finally got the chocolate bunny away from Addison, but she found the Peeps :)

The Baskets.

The Easter Bunny brought Zack, Walter the Farting Dog Goes on a Cruise Tag book. I don't think the Easter Bunny had any idea of what he was actually buying. Zack belly laughs at all the farts and I shake my head and hope he doesn't turn into Al Bundy.

Here is a YouTube video that I found, different boy, but same hilarious giggle every time there is a farting noise. The video doesn't show Zack's favorite page a countdown from 1 - 10 with the farts getting progressively worse.

Maternity Sneak Peek

I recently had the opportunity to photograph maternity pictures for Claudine. Claudine is pregnant with her FOURTH boy. Unfortunately the boys weren't able to come to our mini shoot, but hopefully I'll be able to work with them in the future. It was great seeing you again Claudine. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Miscellaneous Monday

1. I was on the way to work/daycare this morning and Addison decided to change my plans by throwing up three times in the car. We ended up driving to daycare changing her clothes and dropping off Zack, so she'd have a peaceful house to rest in today. Zack wasn't happy about staying at school and Addison has been playing and shows no signs of being sick. I had visions of scrubbing puked on carpets all day, but I guess Zack could have stayed home with us.

2. Tomorrow I am doing a newborn session for Randy and Michelle. I can't wait to meet their baby girl. Watch the blog for a sneak peek later this week.

3. Addison woke up from her nap today and let me hold her for a good 20 minutes. Something that doesn't happen when she has a big brother around to play with. It is a good thing that she was extra snuggly, because I think I'll have a bad case of baby fever tomorrow.

I promised Zack that I'd pick him up early, so I'll leave you with this picture from Saturday. I have the hardest time getting both eye contact and a decent expression from Zack. I had to work for this one. I need to share some outtakes.

The Zoo

The kids and I had a nice weekend. Ryan got home today after four days in Tennessee golfing. We were all happy to have him home. On Saturday my sister and I took our kids to the Indianapolis Zoo. It was our first trip to the Indy Zoo. We had great weather and the kids loved it, although it was really busy.

Here is a shot of the cousins together.

and one of Becky, my sister, walking with the kids, minus Addie, to the car.
